Warzone 2100
Warzone 2100 is a 3D realtime strategy game on a future Earth.
Upon entering the game you land from your transport and establish your base. Here you conduct research, design and manufacture vehicles, build new structures and prepare your plans of global conquest. If the game goes badly you'll end up fighting last ditch battles here to defend your base from enemy attacks.
Combat is frenetic, with extensive graphical effects and buildings giving rise to flying shrapnel and boulders. Within the game are many different structures and vehicles. From an initial Command Center, you then go on to build Resource Extractors to provide fuel for Power Generators, which in turn supply energy to Factories, Research Facilities and weapons emplacements to protect your base.

Love the game, absolutly love it!
But The current version isn't 3.1.0-rc2 its 3.1.0.
admit the efforts while hated the complex way of tech tree
A good range of controls and units but terrible experience because make use of the technology tree is kind of boring.
Better if there is Technology-Points-By-Time / purely organised pre-game
Or more simply start with points,
BTW: I don't want any RTS games with technology tree.(its stupid to develop during a war lasting few minutes.)
A typical warzone game is
A typical warzone game is gonna last more than a few minutes,up to a couple of hours.
And the tech tree makes up for a big part of the game's strategy. when you chhose a strategy, changing it is possible but you have to develop for it.
there are 3 preset tech levels, the highest of which has most technologies unlocked. You develop to improve them.
You may not like WZ design but it is far from stupid.
well, I still consider it a stupid design after reading these...

while it can be made easier, it still go hard way - the main reason I see its it was put on as commercial title so this way could hold old players longer.
or just many people like this way to play = never learnt to understand this...
Yeah, I hate those rushing
Yeah, I hate those rushing games, it isn't really a strategy to build 60 cheap tanks to overrun your enemy. Anyway I'd love to see a real 3D strategy-game(like Homeword) with a huge tech tree.
Awesome game
I remember spending a few weeks of my life on the campaign mode of this game for PS1, in the 90's.
The community behind it is quite active, new updates are released quite regularly.
I am very surprised there isn't almost any modding going on
Good strategy game, with a
