Urban Terror started as a realism based "total conversion" mod for Quake III Arena. Nowadays, Urban Terror is played using the free, stand-alone, ioquake3 engine modified, which doesn't require Quake III Arena, in addition to being an add-on to id Software's Quake III Arena.

Why is this listed as 'code: open' when it's not? The actual game code is proprietary, i.e. closed source.

It is nice and playable. There are bunch of great maps, and if you get on a server that is suitable for your skill it is lots of fun!

There are plenty servers to choose from.
Graphics are old, and weapons do not offer much variability, but its fun!
