Secret Maryo Chronicles is an Open Source two-dimensional platform game with a style designed similar to classic sidescroller games. It uses the platform independent library SDL and, since version 0.98, the OpenGL accelerated Graphics Renderer. The game is developed in C++.

Nice engine. Can't we have something original?
Looks like they've put a good wad of time into making this a mario clone. Does linux need to be known just for unoriginal copy cat software though? Why not let the programmers be free to come up with original ideas and art? Lets show Bill and Steve we can do better!

classic platformer.
Good platformer. Could provide more new ideas, but good for a classic jump'n'run. Hope that in new versions we'll see something even better.
