S.C.O.U.R.G.E. is a cross platform, open source rogue-like game in the fine tradition of NetHack and Moria It sports a graphical front-end, similar to glHack or the Falcon's eye.
The design of the 3D UI is an attempt at the best of both worlds from old to new: It lets you rotate the view, zoom in/out, view special effects, etc with the feeling of the old-school isometric games like Exult or Woodward.

Wow that's no argument - Java has a big api, and as a developer you don't need to know much about memory management etc. and don't forget it is easy to port and FREE
Sure, all languages have it's own pro and contras, but hey I don't have the any right to force a developer in which one he should code...
As long the application/game/whatever is useful and works as expected - why not!

Looks alright, plays alright but abandoned for a prototype...
I found the screen-shots much
I found the screen-shots much better than the real game, and I felt scammed. I lost interest in this game real quick, something I cannot point my finger on keeps me from ever wanting to try it out again....
