Minecraft

Release
Version:
1.3.1
Released:
1 August 2012

Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game with a very low poly graphical style. Everything in the world is made out of boxes that you can destroy, harvest and place. The game has creative and survival modes; In Creative mode you have an infinite supply of blocks which allows you to build whatever your heart desires, in Survival mode you have to work for those blocks, crafting tools to make your life easier. Oh, and monsters will be trying to kill you while you're at it, so you'll have to build bases to survive.

I don't consider this a real game.
The following review expresses my opinion about it

Not playable

All this does is display an almost full progress bar that says done loading.

Even at displaying this progress bar it does a bad job.
For I expect a progress bar that is done loading to be full.

I assumed you played those browser game only - here have none

After I read your comment, I think you might ONLY played games in Web Browsers (Firefox/Chromium/Opera etc.).

Sorry, the games here must have an installation process then you can play, that also means you have to grab them from somewhere.

Here also to be different, you must install them in a way thats up to your distribution,

Ubuntu? OpenSuse? Meego? I don't know.

But here we sure can help you if you reply with your details.

Minecraft is commercial game,

Minecraft is commercial game, so you'll have to buy it at http://www.minecraft.net/ if you want to play.

However, if you can't afford to buy it, currently there are 3 free Minecraft clones available (as far as I've heard, Minetest-c55 is the best among them, but I may be wrong):

...

LGDB mostly lists games, you have to go to the game page to dowload/compile/buy the game in most cases

It's a great sandbox and it has many features of the great Dwarf Fortress. I play it every day, and I am going to buy the game.
