Illarion
Illarion is a free, graphical fantasy game that focuses on true roleplaying. Come and join the world of Illarion. You'll fully emerse yourself in the world of Illarion, as though your character is a real being. All characters around you will behave themselves like real beings in this independent, mysterious world. They'll tell you about magicians, ghosts, and fairies in some of the most unbelievable stories and rumours. Pick a race you would like to play: human, dwarf, halfling, elf. Maybe an orc? Or even a lizardman?
Please don't expect experience points or other numbers inside the game which reveal your skills. Just follow the role you want to play, then you will notice wether you will become a great warrior, fighting against the various evil creatures of Illarion, or the most respected master smith of the town, or even the most popular barkeeper - because practice makes perfect. Druids and magicians will cast mysterious spells with herbs and runes. In addition to all of this each race speaks with it's own language, but all are able to speak the common language of Illarion to make themselves understood.

One of the best games on the web.
As some of the previous players have said, Illarion is a true roleplaying game, whether you become the islands most powerful knight, a evil sorcerer or just a simple farmer/blacksmith/cook/barkeep/druid/fisherman/priest/carpenter just trying to make ends meet.
I ask all to try this game because once you gave you will never think about another game again.
Simply beautiful.
Soo quirky
I really fell for the graphics in this game, they are charming, and it seems like a good game..
Untill you try it ofcause..
The walking, is.. Not good, but can be endured.
But the interface is really sluggish, like, you right click on something.. wait a couple of seconds, and if you're lucky, a menu pops up..
Moving objects are the same.. Except worse, I still didn't figure out if it was the right or left key to drag stuff, and.. exactly when and how it gets in my hand or how to drop it.. There is such a long response on the action that it's impossible to play.
I hope this will be fixed in the next version.
Dude, you did something wrong
You surely messed up with the settings of the game. I play Illarion for years. And the only reason for slow reactions is a slow PC...or a very very very slow connection
Give it another try and ask the people hwo to set-up your settings the best way, it's worth the efford!
Best RPG I ever played
I've tried quite a lot RPGs already, but I didn't find any that reachs the high RP-level of Illarion.
Though the grafic isn't the best (the main reason that keeps many people from playing Illarion), this game ist wounderful. When you start playing, you soon feel like a part of a living world full of magic, monsters, hereos and adventures!
In contrast to most other "MMORPG"s, Illarion focuses on real ruleplaying, thats the reason for this atmosphere of an ancient and mysterious world. You hardly find anyone that isn't RPing when others are around.
Beside the great RP, Illarion has a really nice, english- and german-speaking community, alays in favor of helping new players and some good gamemasters, that bring up some interessting RP-quest when you start to get upset by the every-day-life of your character.
All in all I can only recommend you to play this game, that will become even more fun the more players are around!
This is a wonderful game
This is a wonderful game full of exciting things and will never be tiring because it has no set agenda or end-time. A lot of the game encompasses interaction in the form of roleplay with other players. Due to this it is much better then any "quest" driven or hack/slash because you never know what will happen next. A large part is up to the imagination of the player and the game gives freedom to develope this. If not familiar with roleplay I would say the learning curve is a little high at the start but WELL worth it later, if you ARE familiar with roleplay, this game is a must.
Depth and realism
Illarion is a game like no other, thanks to the enforcing of RP (which means that when you are ingame, you aren't going to have people talk about everyday life, but about the life in the world you are in at the moment, such as powerstruggles, the local barkeeper being out of business or the like). This gives it a lot of depth, and a lot of realism.
Even though some systems are still missing from the game (the druid system is being reworked, and the crafting system still needs some tweaking), there is a lot of things you can immediately dive into. Make your own boots, or start farming the day away as some lazy halfling.
Overall, great game, that will keep pulling you back in.
Real Roleplay
I play the game since a few years now. In difference to other MMORPGs you found in Illarion more true roleplay. There is no senseless PvP or massive of OOC talk. It have also a very impressive crafting system. Specially i like the active community.
