Would you like a hack-n-slash without grinding? How about a city builder without resource management? And if you mixed tower defense in with then you'd have Heldric – The legend of the shoemaker. A shoemaker you ask? That's right, this isn't a game about a lone epic hero fighting to save the world. The player is a humble shoemaker who is out to help his fellow villagers defend against brutal attacks by foul monsters.
So what is the gameplay like? Players build, rotate, upgrade and decorate the village in construction mode. But they must hurry before the village is attacked by randomly generated waves of monsters. These enemies are not just clones of the same create, but all have different armor, health, courage and weapons. During this phase it's important to help your villagers defend themselves. But don't forget, you're not an epic knight in armor, you must work with the village to be successful.
Critical to survival will be the placement of shrines that will give you bonus to health, damage, or unleash deadly fire in the enemy's path. Buildings unlock new weapons for the village and extra bonus for the player.
