Beats of Rage

Beats of Rage is a freeware open source video game and moddable game engine made by Senile Team and inspired by Sega's classic Streets of Rage series. The term "moddable" means that the program allows users to create their own content, and thus their own beat-'em-up game, which is then called a "mod".

Note: there are several ways to get the game running:
- Get the source and resources of original game from SenileTeam
- Get the OpenBOR and install Beats of Rage mod package (can be found at OpenBOR website); this also gives you the original game, except the updated engine

linux compile instructions
I would like to try this, but I cannot find any compile instructions since they have discontinued their sourceforce page
There are prebuilt BOR Ubuntu
There are prebuilt BOR Ubuntu packages found on the web, but I would recommend you to use OpenBOR (at least it works better on my machine), you can get it at lavalit.com (registration required). You can compile OpenBOR yourself, or you can get prebuilt package (you'll find corresponding topic on lavalit.com);
However, if you really need original BOR engine for some reason, then you'll have to deal with Watcom C compiler and assembler.
Excellent old-school
