Choose units from a large pool of specialists, and hand-pick a force with the right strengths to fight well on different terrains against all manner of opposition.

There are add-ons which will give you hours of RPG fun, in addition to the standard tactics of the game. Look for the ones made by Bob the Mighty.
This game is highly extensible.
