yeah, I think we should wait for a stable release before we include this, but's definitely a game to watch.
Tried it (although I have 32bit) - switched to my system-wide JVM and changed that line 378.
3 times out of ~15 tries it run successfully (no segfaults, the game just freezes at startup sometimes [most times]).
I get this thing now running, but it isn't fully translated yet.
Here my little howto for 64 bit:
wget -c http://download.dofus-arena.com/full/linux/ -O $HOME/dofusarena.sh
update but don't start it, download and extract a 32bit JavaVM(ia32 from apt won't work)
edit the start script and override your javavm(line 4), change line 378 to:
"$app_java_home/bin/java" -client "-Xmx512M" "-XX:+ForceTimeHighResolution" "-XX:MinHeapFreeRatio=10" "-XX:MaxHeapFreeRatio=20" "-XX:+CMSIncrementalMode" "-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC" "-XX:+UseParNewGC" "-Dsun.awt.noerasebackground=true" "-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true" "$vmov_1" "$vmov_2" "$vmov_3" "$vmov_4" "$vmov_5" $INSTALL4J_ADD_VM_PARAMS -classpath "$local_classpath" com.install4j.runtime.Launcher launch com.ankamagames.dofusarena.client.DofusArenaClient true false "$prg_dir/error.log" "" true true false "Splash.png" true true 350 200 "" 20 20 "Arial" "0,0,0" 8 500 "version 2" 20 40 "Arial" "0,0,0" 8 500 -1 "$@"
save and try it again
btw: here is my start script
It hardly qualifies as a game, of course, being just what's advertised: a visual novel.
Yet it features one of the most breathtaking stories in the genre, supported by nicely drawn - albeit slightly repetitive - artworks.
The soundtrack is spot on, and the various translations included (in the Narcissu -2nd- version at least) ensure you'll find something that fits your need: either terse and close in spirit or more literate and slightly away from the original.
What's not to like about this unless you don't like to read? Not much really.
A beautiful, moving, slightly depressing must-read. :)
Forum topic: loki games?
wow, I did not know that :) I thought they would be out of stock after all these years, thx for the links!
Even though there is not much content, you can play for hours with whats there.
