This game is great. I'm addicted to it. There are lots of different heroes to choose from and I really enjoy the game play. The game does take a lot of strategy and understanding. Not only of the characters but also of the items and how they affect the game. I've never played "Defense of the Ancients" but quickly picked up the game, but its taken longer to master the game. I'm very happy with the game and have pre-purchased it for $30.
Ok 4no1,
You can now checkout the all new emulator-entry-creation, just go to "Create content" let me know what is missing and how to organize / differentiate between the different emulators.
actually that would be a good place to have a wine entry too, but its listed under tools cause "wine is not an emulator"
haha. i would create another type of content called: "Emulator" so people can select if they want to create a game or an emulator entry. Much like the tool section.
Well, for me the lgdb is an excellent place to check out games for linux. Because not many games are written for linux, emulation is an option to play those. I agree that non-linux games should not be listed here. But some pages with some options to play non linux games under linux would be nice. I can make some pages, but I'm not sure where to put them. The tools section would be the most appropriate, but I guess nobody looks there
No, there is no place at the moment, but there could be, if you take the responsibility
things to consider:
- what information is useful?
- is there another site that takes care of emulators for linux?
- lgdb.org is not about emulated games so they will not be listed, but i think the emulator site usually takes care of that anyway (e.g.: http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/)
i personally have very very little knowledge about emulators, so if you already have some design design ideas you are more than welcome to realize them.
To bad i will start with a negative comment, cause i really wanted to like the game, interesting gameplay, nice graphics and sounds. But i'm not gonna play it anymore cause the community is full of haters and flamers.
It was my first game of this type and i never played the Warcraft III mod "Defense of the Ancients" so i consider myself a noob. but thats not sufficient, if you are a beginner, don't even bother looking for servers labeled: "noob", look for "mega noob" or "ubernoob" servers but even that wont safe you from getting insulted because of "wrong" gameplay. If you want to give it a try, take a friend along, after all its free at the moment.
A very usefull site to begin, with explanations of some basic and advaced gameplay-elements is: http://heroes-newerth.com/
It is nice game that makes you think. Some levels are quite hard and you have to try them many times untill you find the right way. Game is great, has lots of levels to discover. I have let my nephew play the 'kids' levels and he liked it too, played 20 levels in a row (then he wanted to play some racing game
If you play whole game, you can try another game - "Professor Fizzwizzle and Molten Mystery" which is quite the same with new levels and new features ( fire gun, teleporters, fly-bots ).
I played Linux and Windows versions and its the same on both platforms.
19:59:21Superuser Lichess, the free and open source, the most comprehensively-featured chess website, brimming with HTML5-ness and modern web goodness, with no ads (ever), recently had a new release! Check it out at lichess.org
11:42:02Curly Brace Hi, Superuser. No, web based games are not added (with only few exceptions, like Quake Live). However, there was a separate forum thread for HTML5 games, you can leave interesting links there
Game: Heroes of Newerth
Rate the game, not the people who play it.
