fs2_open has nothing to do with freespace its just a game engine like ioquake and you can play various titles with it:

The Babylon Project, Wing Commander Saga, FSPort, FreeSpace2/FreeSpace 2 SCP, Beyond The Red Line, Inferno, Blue Planet and a lot more

The game's already in the database. I bet you've used the search (http://www.lgdb.org/search/luceneapi_node/babylon), which doesn't work for some reason. I'll merge old version into new one after some time.
