The full game has a more interesting survival-mode where you need to gather resources for building blocks and tools. At night creepy monsters appear and try to kill you, so you'd better build a shelter before dusk. Once this shelter is reasonably secured, you may want to build something bigger like a castle or whatever you can think of.
hehe Ancient its not time to be there yet :D i usually don't hang out on irc and i think it will be a little empty.... so i'm not sure if we should go for IRC or if something else is better....
Lots of fun, and lots of things to do, but not overly challenging. Once you have airports up, you can just sit back and watch the money roll in... The AI isn't very challenging either, if you really want OpenTTD to challenge you, you have to impose restrictions on yourself like "Only use railroads" or "Only produce and transport goods".
Understand that this for the most part is a hardcore RTS. You need to be very quick and make complex decisions understanding every aspect of the situation and your capabilities while predicting the enemy's actions. This is like games such as starcraft. Don't play it expecting it to be casual at all.
Note: Recent proliferation of '8v8DSD' games are much slower paced and more forgiving, but they are also not all that entertaining
I didn't even know this was available on linux. I used to play it when it was a just a flash game and then when they made it in to a windows executable.
Very fun. Worth every cent I payed for it.
Easy for casual players to pick up and play and for intermediate-hardcore gamers to play competitively to try and make the tallest stable structure with the leftover goo from all the levels.
The first time I tried to play I couldn't quite understand how to get started but after reading a quick tutorial I started and didn't want to stop. This game deserves more attention. I don't often play simulator games but this one kept me playing for hours for some reason. I suggest if you haven't played it before, give it a try.

Besides, playing with legos is fun. ;)

Any chance having the IRC
Any chance having the IRC chat a bit more integrated, like GameJolt for example? I am getting lonely being the only person in the room :(

Yes, we all hate installing
Yes, we all hate installing proprietary software, but is this really a reason to give a game 1/10, huh ?
