While the Mac and Windows users are enjoying the 1.05 version, we continue stuck with an unplayable 1.0rc1.

Segmentation fault!

Game: Caster

A mix between dragon ball and megaman. Not being ambitious, this game provides a lot of action for casual players through it's simple controls. It may be too unchallenging for hardcore players however... I suppose.

Remember to select the girl character when starting a new game. Her movements look much better, particularly the jumps.

You can do serious work while playing eternal lands, because some things in game (harvesting, manufacturing)
require little interaction.

Fighting and a couple of other things require you to play actively.
I think the game is much fun. Especially when you have work
to do but need a distraction every now and then.

The concepts of the game are nice but unfortunately you have to do
tons of click and stay hours behind the screen
because the events there dont allow you to quit your keyboard
and screen.

What is the interest of harvesting minerals or flowers with the
harassing events forcing you to stay and click for hours and hours?
Moreover you need to harvest the same thing many times
(harvest, full, go back to storage,
re-harvest, re-full, re-gobacktostorage and then again
re-re-harvest, re-re-full, re-re-gobacktostorage ...)

Harvest, build, click, click and click again until you get bored ...
Some maps are missing. Some areas are full of clicking
people for a while (some reminds me those working hard
like in most big cities of the world but here we are in a game).
Mobs spawn in known places. Many quests are known
(with exactly what to do and where to go).

The good thing is that with EL, players do not need to think a lot,
they just have to behave like bots.

This game is still being developed, unfortunately it is not open source as http://www.take2games.com/ owns the source.

Version 1.8 is currently being worked on and tested.

You can also still play online thanks to http://www.mariusnet.com/

There are even competitive World Cup tourneys: http://mwc2012.proboards.com/index.cgi

Note that you can install the game from either the original windows/mac disk or from the loki port. Both are still available to buy online.
