I'm a software developer myself, and one thing I can say is that checks are secondary to getting things working under optimal conditions (everything exists, etc.). As a result, a missing file will often cause a fatal crash.
Dungeon of Elements is an RPG dungeon crawler with combat inspired by Dr. Mario and Tetris. It also features experimental crafting, tons of gear, collecting, pets, 45 different environments, 60+ enemy types, and much more.
Unlike most Kickstarter campaigns, Dungeon of Elements will launch to our backers in July 2013! There is no long wait for the game.
I find the game's ideas very unique. They're unique in the good way; the game innovates in a space that really needs it - the arena shooter genre of course!
The game's more interesting features, like Ethernet mode, are not gimmicks, either; they are the result of good game design, resulting in a fun, fast-paced shooter somewhat similar to Unreal Tournament.
However, there are two big problems.
No-one plays it. There are two servers and they are almost always empty. A real shame!
While the rest of the game is very well thought-out and polished, the user interface is extremely ugly and honestly makes the game hard to play. At least, it significantly reduces the experience for me. It also presents a steep learning curve to anyone new to the game
Overall, I think it is a good, generally polished, but very underappreciated game. However, it has a high learning curve and this is understandable. Great game nevertheless, and certainly worth your time, especially if you enjoy arena shooters!
19:59:21Superuser Lichess, the free and open source, the most comprehensively-featured chess website, brimming with HTML5-ness and modern web goodness, with no ads (ever), recently had a new release! Check it out at lichess.org
11:42:02Curly Brace Hi, Superuser. No, web based games are not added (with only few exceptions, like Quake Live). However, there was a separate forum thread for HTML5 games, you can leave interesting links there
