Praise be! The PZ Desura Drought Ends!
Finally, after a long wait, Zomboid returns to the Desura Client with the much awaited (by us at least) 2.9 build.

The joys of 008
Hey survivors! We're just putting the 008 build through some vigorous last minute testing, and expect it to be at some point today. It's a biggie, for more reasons than you'll realise. We're hoping, a few minor bug fix updates aside, this will be the one that ultimately ends up going onto Desura proper.

Developments on Lucky 7
PLEASE NOTE: Since this blog went up on our main site Lucky Build Number 7 was released - late on Monday night (GMT). It now allows a lot of people who were facing the OpenGL/Intel bug to play the game, but there's still work to be done in getting everyone back on board. Great progress though :D.

Another week of testing in the can. As anyone who's followed all the video action this week will know, it feels really close to that inevitable point where we say 'oh what the hell' and release. But not today, I'm afraid.

As work continues on the impending release, spirits haven’t been this high at Indie Stone towers in a long, long time. What are we humming so contentedly about?

The Blood. The Sweat. The Testing.
The game has been in testing for a little over a week now, and we've already had 5 versions and multiple hotfixes, eliminating a whole slew of map bugs, crashes, and making huge strides in optimization and reducing the memory used by the game.

Buy Zomboid – Get indie game Homesick – Save a life
Chloe Sagal, a valued member of our community and fellow indie developer, needs life saving surgery to remove a piece of shrapnel after a car accident, and if she doesn’t have it removed it will be fatal.

Testing times!
Yes, it’s true. As of 01:27 AM this past Friday morning the RC3 build (as discussed last week) entered closed testing. No, that’s not an April Fools gag. It’s a thing that actually happened. (Our April Fools jape comes toward the end of this blogpost and has been conveniently highlighted by the use of italics.)

RC3 DEVELOPMENT DEVELOPMENTS
Hello survivor. Let’s talk RC3 plans – as, as hinted last week, we’re going to shake things up a little. In order to finalise work on NPCs and the NPC metagame we needed to bring the overall game back to working order – integrate the new map, look at balancing, knock out gameplay bugs and essentially get the game up and running before our little survivor chaps could sprint around their apocalyptic playground.

Window Pains
Roll up, roll up and welcome one and all to one of those conversational blog posts we sometimes do. This week we discuss test build machinations, windows and all manner of control malarky. So hold those horses, as chit-chat commences between Chris ‘Lemmy’ Simpson and Andy ‘Binky’ Hodgetts.

50 Shaders of Grey (Groan)
Once again we have a week where the coders are buckling down getting all the features of the game working in preparation for a closed test of the game (without meta-game). As such we’re getting to the point now where it’s increasingly difficult to show ‘new stuff’, and until we get to finishing the meta-game that’s unlikely to change much. Though there may be little prezzies from Binky, Mash and Romain in the meantime.

Hello everybody,
Lemmy here! Something a little bit different this week, as myself and RingoD talk to the wonderful Mathas on his weekly Mondoid video about various stuff, meaning Mathas is now a part of the Mondoid. Eek!

Blood and Guts in the Sandbox
Welcome to this week’s Monday blog post! Lemmy here this time, and yes, we have a video! Though probably not one you’d ever expect. As we continue to beat the meta-game into submission, perfect the skill system, expand the map, add all the missing animations, and do numerous fixes to the game to bring it toward RC3, we thought we’d give you a look into a part of the game we have kept under wraps for a while, but one that should have a huge impact on the game.

Zomboid, customisation, and a nice cup of tea
Right then, it's that time again and unfortunately for you, blogging duties have fallen to me (Binky). I'll do my best not to make an utter pig's ear of it. Last time I did one of these, I ended up interviewing Marina but since she's busy beavering away on some lovely new container object tiles and other assorted map goodies, I guess I'll have to interview myself.

A nice sit down with a crawling flesh-hungry zombie
Evening all. It’s been a week dominated by, as you might expect, drilling down on the metagame we’ve discussed heavily in recent Mondoid blogs. It’s the key to the RC3 release, and the thing that all the work around it is going to be hung off. The thing is, when we get to actually describing the task at hand it can get a little in-depth and ‘codery’. So let’s start this weeks PZ development round up with something fun. Crawling zombies!
