Stendhal 1.08: Spend Summer outdoors [Update No. 1]
Stendhal 1.08: Spend Summer outdoors. Have a look at the announcement for details about new quests, items, creatures and sounds.
This release is signed with a new certificate because the old one expired after one year. You may get a dialog box saying that Stendhal is a new applicatoin. In the past, certificate rollover required a complete new download of Stendhal. But since last year it works automatically.

Chapter 2 now available!
I'm very happy to announce the arrival of Luminesca Chapter 2 on Windows, Mac and Linux! The new update also includes some additions and improvements to Chapter 1, so dive in!
Barbarian Attack canceled
Important announcement: Due to last weeks flawed monthly ranking and all consequential inconsistencies, we have reluctantly decided not to carry out the Barbarian Attack that was scheduled for next Sunday. Given the circumstances, we think that this is the fairest approach for all cities. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Foxes & Fences
Welcome back readers! Don’t be too distracted by all the cute animals – the most important point will be our comprehensive simulation of the economic transformation of the frontier enabled by the advent of industrialized production of barbed-wire fences. But first, one of the fascinating new additions to Clockwork Empires is this fox:
The new Clockwork Empires engine enables a visual fidelity and realism never before possible in indie games. These are all rendered in real-time in Maya but will totally actually be in the game once Nicholas is done with the entrenching system.
Our new fox model is taken from high-resolution scans of an actual Google image search for the word “fox”. Every detail is replicated by the talented Mr. Joseph Nejat.
We sat around drinking beer and thought really hard about bringing an actual fox into our imaginary motion capture studio but then realized that it’d be dangerous and probably illegal. So we just said “Do your best old bean! Pip pip, jolly good” to Mr. Chris Triolo and the Gaslamp partners all agreed that it turned out “pretty OK”, then drank deeply from steaming, tenebrous liqueur poured, wailing softly, from The Jars. We then turned into living shadow and were drawn toward the Astral Void, as Jupiter was aligned with the Moon in the configuration which most pleases Njibb’-Nor.
So, how about those fences!
Yeah, I know this is what you’ve really been waiting for: sturdy fences for demarcating socially-imposed divisions onto the land itself — provided by the producers of top-quality fencing at Mr. Sean “What, more bloody bricks?” Hamilton & Co. Environmental Goods Manufactory of 119 Industry Road, Cogsport-upon-Slue, Peatshire.
Some barbed wire will keep those bloody Aurochs out, innit.
The Loneliest Chair in the World is comforted by its only friend, Brick Wall.
“Otis Rachetwright! What in the name of the Anti-Cog are you doing standing in that bushel of fine charcoal!?” (Not involved: A handsome white picket fence.)
Humble-bundled!
We are honored (humbled, even! sorry.) to be included amongst this awesome selection, I mean, just look at that line-up! It’s been almost a year since the release of the game, and what a nice way to celebrate the almost-occasion this is (light your mental candles!).
By the way, even though we are working as hard as we can to reply to all support requests, don’t be mad if we need a few days to get back to you. Our team is so small, you know, you could probably fit all of us into an Isetta. This means we have no dedicated support people or anything, and we have to answer mails and write forum posts while trying to juggle our day-to-day work at the same time. Thanks for your patience, everyone!

Code.org
My mantra for years has been that learning to program will make you better no matter what you end up doing for a living. Whether you work in computers or choose dance as your vocation the skills learned in programming will benefit you. That’s because programming is a core of math wrapped with a layer of pragmatism so thin you can still see the numbers below it. I’ve known many young people, even when I was young, who couldn’t grasp the abstraction of algebra, but who could understand Logo. And for the record I hate Logo and those sort of highly limited languages (like Scratch) but I can’t deny that they can be a bridge for some people.
Code.org pulls together some awesome resources including teaching tutorials by codecademy and khanacademy. Even Scratch is there. Most are taught in browser so you don’t have to load any programs to start. In fact I’m going to start my kids on this this weekend.
I love and fully endorse this site and hope one day to develop a series of tutorials that will be featured on it.

KSP 0.21 Update News
Here are some news from the Developers on what they are working on for the 0.21 Update.
http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/content.php/184
As most of you already know, 0.21 is an important update for us, because it’s the first proper update primarily focused on Career Mode, the least developed area of the game at the moment. Needless to say, we are all very excited about what’s coming.
* Revised Flight-End scene flow.
In preparation for Career gameplay, we are rethinking the way flights are ended. Gone is the ‘End Flight’ button in the Pause Menu, cause of many a tale of accidental space station deletion. Now, you’ll either get to return to the Space Center (as before), or when applicable, Revert to an earlier state (to launch or to the editors). More information on this soon.
* Player Progress Tracking System
Another step forward into Career Mode, this is an internal game system that will be used to track players as they progress towards advancing Kerbalkind to being a proper space-faring civilization. This is a core system, so don’t expect much in terms of new content from this… It will pave the way towards some very cool new features down the road though.
* Overhauled Space Center Scenery
Time to go over the most underdeveloped part of the game. Gone will be the placeholder terrain, and in comes proper scenery for the space center. And because it’s the same terrain as in flight, we don’t need to reload it when going for a launch. This should cut down transition times from KSC to flight quite a lot.
* The Astronaut Complex Facility
Another huge feature in the making, the Astronaut Complex is a new building at the Space Center, that gives you an overview of all your available victims brave explorers, and lets you recruit new ones from a list of applicants.
* Crew Management
Along with the Astronaut Complex, this adds the ability to select the crew for a vessel before launch (from the launch sites or from the editors). Pick from the list of available crewmembers, and assign them to any (yes, any) part on the vessel.
* Overhauled Space Center Facilities.
We’re also re-doing the VAB and SPH models, to bring them up to par with the facilites we already did on the previous updates.
* More Upgrades to Parts and Part Modules.
Continuing our work with moving all our parts to the new Modules system we implemented in 0.18, this update will feature yet more parts completely re-coded to the new system, allowing for many new possibilities from both stock and mod parts.
