The Reason…
Hello Guys.
Long Time no see. The Reason is that i have not the power to work on it. Since the last post my life really changes on a hard way.
I was at the doctor for a standard diagnostic. And i came home with the diagnose that i have Cancer. It is a malignat tumor in the near of the right Eye inside my head.
So now i do a therapy to get healthy. But this therapy is very hard and power robbing. I go to work to feed my familiy and go to the therapy to get healthy. Thats my life for the last couple of month. The other bad side note of this fu..ing Cancer is that it cost fu..ing much money.
The Insurance only would pay for the operative removal of this tumor. But this will cost the ability of seeing on the right eye. So i decided to take the Therapy without Operation. It last longer to get healthy and costs much of money. Actually we (My Wife and my two little girls) are in the need of around 5000 – 6000€.
So if you people out there are willing to help you can donate to the Paypal account here on the website. If 3000 People would spend 2€ each the goal is reached. But this is voluntary. But Please share this posting around.
If i am back aboard i will work on Q3Rally again. Ideas are in my head. Much of them.

Test versions
You can check progress on WebGL client here: http://manicdigger.sourceforge.net/webgl/game.html
WebGL browser client
I’m trying to make a web browser version of the game using JavaScript, WebGL and Script#. New client will not require any plugins (like Flash, Java, Silverlight or Unity). It will still be possible to use desktop C# client and play together on same servers.
See HexGL and Trigger Rally Version 2 games to check if you will be able to run MD in web browser.
WebGL works best on Windows Vista, 7 and 8, using Google Chrome or Firefox. To run on Windows XP you have to unlock WebGL. WebGL also works on Linux, Mac and even Android.
21.10.2012, 18:15 | LambdaRogue 1.7 - End of an Era
I want to provide some updates about the future of LambdaRogue.
As you know, the next update will be 1.7. As most major updates, it will have a name attached, which, in this case, will be "End of an Era". What does this mean?
- LambdaRogue 1.7 aka "End of an Era" will tie up some loose ends, both of the story and the game mechanics. This also includes a new questline (a very melancholic one, I can tell you.)
- LambdaRogue 1.7 will also include the new 40x80 tileset currently done by Cecilia. (And the tiles that are already finished on my HDD look great!)
But End of an Era also means end of LambdaRogue development.
Yes, that's right, LR 1.7 will be the final update, the "definitive version" of the game. No more updates will come. What are the reasons for this?
LambdaRogue development started in 2006. I devoted more than 6 years to the growth of this game, and it has reached a state where everything I wanted to achieve with it has been done.
LambdaRogue is one of the most accessible roguelikes currently available, and still one of the few roguelikes that somehow manage to have a good balance between random game mechanics and fixed story. The story is complete, the game is stable, it is quite balanced -- it is simply finished.
Is this the end?
Well, I said "end of an era", but not "end of the world", and actually, I have many ideas for expanding the game world and its lore.
So, while LambdaRogue, as piece of software as it is, won't receive any more updates after 1.7, it does not mean that the brave people of Herbstwelt have to cope without their creator (i.e. me ;-) ) from now on.
Instead, it's time for something new. For something that gives me all the time and space and scale for telling Herbstwelt's story once again.
Exciting times lay ahead of us. :-)
Friday Flashback #33: Crazy Times!
Island Forge Free-to-Play
Version 0.0.3 released
Hi,
we want to announce the first version again with a GUI. Nothing fancy,
essentially you can connect to the server and try out some chatting, but
with a GUI. Behind the scenes, we have also paved the way for loading a scenario; integrating this with the client/server code will be the next
goal.
The detailed changes:
- added configuration and i18n facilities (not yet used)
- game data can be loaded from a scenario description and set up
- added server contexts ("rooms") to allow players to perform different actions on the server (among other things, servers can in principle host multiple games)
- added first GUI elements and dialogs

AliensRL Wiki opened!
It appeared in the search queries, it was asked about by people at the forums, it was needed by all — now finally, AliensRL Wiki is live! While not content-complete, thanks to Game Hunter a lot of raw data has already been entered. If you’re an AliensRL fan, why not hop in and help out?
May the wiki help you discover the basics of the game while playing 0.8.2 while we all anticipate 0.8.4!
To log in you need a ChaosForge forum account with at least one post (just say hello in the Wiki thread!).
Black Omega progress update
Dear players, fans and followers!
This is another "status update", and again, it's so long overdue! For that, again, we apologize. But as always, this happens because the team is so busy with game development and not because there's nothing to tell you about. So, this mostly technical update will show you what's currently happening in the area of Black Omega development.
