Switched to git
In case you were wondering why there are no more new commits in our Mercurial repository since November:
As most of our developers were not content with Mercurial, we switched from Mercurial to git as our version control system.
The old Mercurial repository will soon be not available anymore, so make sure to check out the new git repository. PeterW updated our tutorials for building OpenClonk on Windows and explained the git workflow to those who are not familiar with git yet (or generally any distributed version control system).
I also adapted the looks of the OpenClonk git web frontend to fit into the rest of the site, it’s linked in our header. I expect that soon the autobuilds will follow and again be directly linked on the shortlog page.
Revision 1851:

Happy New Year
Happy New Year!
Sorry there were no blog posts in December. Late 2012 was a blur of card, wood, glue & burning the 4am oil to hit our Lume 2 filmshoot deadline. We did it! What’s more the footage really is looking great, and has exceeded our expectations. This has set us up nicely for 2013, and to complete Lume 2 for a Spring 2013 launch. Watch this space, hoping to put up some photos very soon of the shoot. Thanks to everyone who has been involved so far to get us to this stage.
Oh, and if that has made you think about taking a look at the original Lume, it’s for sale on Steam at a fabulous 75% discount for the next few days.

Happy Holidays from Supergiant!
As the year (perhaps the WORLD?!) draws to a close, we wanted to recap some of the latest news on what’s happening with Bastion and with us at Supergiant.
Bastion Announcer Pack for Dota 2
We’re very happy to reveal the Bastion Announcer Pack for Dota 2, Valve’s popular and incredibly deep team-based action strategy game!
Featuring more than 700 original lines of voiceover delivered by the voice of Bastion’s narrator, Logan Cunningham, the Bastion Announcer Pack for Dota 2 puts our special spin on one of the most complex and engaging competitive games we’ve ever played. A couple of us on team are huge fans of Dota 2 (the original DotA mod for Warcraft III is one of Supergiant cofounder Amir Rao’s all-time favorite games) so it was a real treat to contribute something to this game and collaborate with the amazing team at Valve. If you’d like to know more about Dota 2, visit the official web site.

Xmas Assault!
Knights new version coming soon…
Just a quick Knights update here. I have been away from Knights for a while (sorry about that) but I do have a bit of spare time over Christmas and I intend to use it to make a new Knights release.
The plan is to include the following features (the numbers refer to Trac):
- Implement the “Monster Proposal“
- #215 – Add GetRespawnFunction to Lua API
- #203 – Error message or warning if Lua “prefix” forgotten
- #206 – Update manual to refer to new Boost version
- #164 – Ability to cycle each observer window independently
Hopefully I can get this done fairly quickly, as I know some people on the forum have been waiting for a new release for some time now…
After that I’d ideally like to get the map editor up and running again, as this would complement the Knights Lua scripting features nicely. This could really open the door for people to make new rooms or maybe even entire custom maps for Knights. That will be a task for next year though
