I have a Dream.
Well as advertised on Linux gaming reddit Rootgamer, Freegamer and Linux Game Database are working together to give the power to vote for your favourite Open Source Game of the month. You know why? Because we want to that is why. Open source projects don’t have the money like commercial games to advertise and plus this is our way (as Linux gaming media) to give back to all these amazing projects that have really defined the spirit of community in not only Linux but the whole PC space.
How does it make with the workings?
Well you miscreants just click on this link...

Haymaker is a two player beat em up set in America in the golden 50′s. Meet crazy and unique fighting champions like ‘Lastermann’ or ‘Officer Johnson’. Grab a friend, or try your luck against the computer, and get into fight! Haymaker started as a project of five Game Design students at the HTW Berlin for our course of studies during one semester.
After we received feedback, we decided to expand the whole game and serve our demanding audience to release a full playable version. So after an additional half year of polishing and adding new, exciting, characters and stages, we are very proud to release Haymaker for the PC!
And today we have yet another exciting release, Dead Sky has just been released on Steam for Linux!
This week RootGamer interviewed Mathieu Comandon, an open-source fanatic, software engineer and core developer of ‘Lutris‘. Lutris is an open gaming platform for GNU/Linux. What is the motivation for you to develop ‘Lutris‘?

A while ago I talked about Festival Of Magic showing Linux support if they got Greenlit on Steam. Well they emailed me to let me know that they have begun a Kickstarter campaigne to raise money needed to finish the other key features of the game. Bendik Stang the games director was asked “why such a low amount for the game’s goal?” during a media preview of the Kickstarter project. Stang replied.
We have currently spent over $1M and will need a little short of $900k to complete the game. $250k we hope to get from all of you through Kickstarter, another $50k will come from the Norwegian Film Fund provided the Kickstarter is successful....
Montague’s Mount has just been released on Steam. It is a cross platform (Linux,Mac,Win) psychological thriller set on a lonely deserted Island in Ireland, and is apparently based on a true story.
We didn’t reach our target which is a shame, but I would like to thank everyone who supported and backed us!
Despite having suffered a failed Indigogo campaign, the developers of Montague’s Mount pushed ahead and succeeded in releasing a very intriguing game; one that will keep us all occupied for hours of fun…nail biting fun, but fun all the same.
The mixture of cold Atlantic water and coarse sand in your...

Well the day has finally come where I now can see Nuclear Dawn in my Linux game list…… Just give me a minute, it’s just so beautiful I could just begin to~ smashing everyone in some matches!!
Nicholas Hastings posted on the forums saying:
I’ve created a new Beta Discussion subforum now in anticipation of the beta coming live. It’s not out yet, but inching closer, working on the last bit of deployment issues.
Nuclear Dawn Beta Test Thread
In the Sub-Forum Nicholas wrote under the heading BETA UPDATES:
The Linux beta is coming soon.
Right now, the game will show up in your...
I met Nicholas Hastings on steam right after he posted the famous screen shots of Nuclear Dawn running on Linux. Ever since then we have been talking and building a friendship. When he is not programming he like to kick back on Steam like the rest of us. Nicholas is has a very down to earth personality and has been working super hard to bring Nuclear Dawn to Linux so I asked him to stop working on the Beta (I know, you can hate me later) and do an “Official” interview with me. I hope you learn a lot about what Nicholas’s job and when you see him in Nuclear Dawn give him a proper death of respect(Headshot).
It’s that time of the month again when we set a minor little challenge and ask you to answer a few Linux related questions, yes folks, it’s time to ROOTRIVIA!!!
- All contestants may only do the challenge once. (I know and I’m tracking). Failure to do so will cost you your entry in the challenge.
In this challenge we will test your minds and memory. You must answer 10 multiple choice questions all based around Linux for the past year. There is no time limit to answer the questions but the time is recorded on how long it took you to complete the challenge.
This month we have 15 copies of the brilliant mind altering “Irritum” to give away to the lucky...
Awesomenauts has added a new skin for Sheriff Lonestar called Private Mels. I know what your thinking “What does this have to do with Linux gaming?”. Well, the team at Ronimo Games has this to say about about their new DLC for Sheriff Lonestar.

This week Derk from RootGamer spoke with David Jagneaux and Tethys Interactive about the innovate RPG:
Interview Astral Terra Developers
Not even a full weekend after posting the screenshots of Nuclear Dawn running on Ubuntu does Nicholas Hastings from Interwave Studios post this little diddy to get me giddy.
Please don’t hold me to this, but there will probably be a public beta of it sometime later this week.
It will not be compatible with current servers and will be more of a test for those that want to try it and report issues. Not long after, we will do a proper release of it with a corresponding server update.
So that there’s no false expectations, this update will solely be the linux client support as well as bugfixes for all platforms.
Additionally, the Bad Santa achievement will be made attainable during the 2013 Steam...

I was checking out SteamDB to see if there was any recent updates to a few games and noticed a game called “Joe Danger”. So I clicked steam store page link and began watching the games trailer.

Now, I like to give credit where credit is due. I have been a fan of this show and try to watch it live when I can. Venn Stone, Jordan Cwang and Pedro Mateus bring not only great news to Linux gaming in general but also their sense of humour is really second to none and that is I really enjoy the show. they really give a “Bitch slap of truth”,I would call them my “friends” but then there would be a sexual harassment suite and I have no evidence of me NOT committing such acts against them….so.
Here you can check out the latest episode #64 American Scum Dollar
This show is a must watch show and it is even better live. You can tune in every Saturday 6:00pm PDT / 9:00pm EDT its really great to watch. But you can also check out their LGCPlayas video’s , B-reel...Full article: Linux GameCast Weekly get’s “Metro”!

Fields of War also has a page on Steam Greenlight, where you can vote to get it on Steam!
